Where this stone was born
From the Mogok Valley of Myanmar, which has produced fine rubies, sapphires and spinel for over 800 years. For centuries spinel was mistaken for ruby. Some of the most famous “rubies” in royal crown jewels turned out to be Mogok spinels. Its pink and red, born in Mogok’s marble, stays vivid in any light, and that is why collectors now look for spinel by its own name. This 1.74 ct cushion is untreated and certified by GIA.
